PROTEST THE GAP! MARCH 7 AND 8

Public · By Jade Lu

Thursday at 9:00am until Friday at 3:00pm

The Genocide Awareness Project usually comes every year to UBC during International Women’s Day.

THIS YEAR THE GAP WILL BE HERE ON MARCH 7 AND 8 AT THE NORTH PLAZA (BETWEEN THE SUB AND BROCK HALL, ACROSS FROM IRVING), 9 AM TO 3 PM.

Instead of the usual protest against the Genocide Awareness Project, let’s have a celebration of reproductive rights and appreciate the past and current efforts for women’s body autonomy. Instead of debate and anger that the anti-choice group wants, let’s have a celebration!

THIS IS A PEACEFUL PROTEST IN SOLIDARITY FOR REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS!

No inflammatory words and violence is tolerated for anyone who decides to be there on behalf of Students for Reproductive Rights.

Invite your friends!
Bring your witty signs!
We have extra signs stored at the Womyn’s Centre at the SUB.

Same as last year:
Students for Reproductive Rights would like this demonstration to be as peaceful and respectful as possible. We are opposed to this attack on women’s rights, and we are opposed to the misappropriation of the suffering of genocide victims to promote political ideology. We will work to correct misinformation being disseminated by the GAP, and also to provide a supportive environment for students who are triggered by the images. We will not, however, be impeding access to the display or interfering with the property of Lifeline and CCBR, nor do we support such actions.

All individuals attending our event are asked to follow these terms and conditions. Please stay within the area that we have booked, do not obstruct pedestrian routes, and do not interfere with Lifeline’s display.
