The Genocide Awareness Project– a group that compares abortion to genocide through visual images of children killed in the Holocaust and genocides in Rwanda and the Congo– came to the University of British Columbia the day after International Women’s Day . Students for Reproductive Rights (SRR) were ready however and over 100 people protested the demonstration by yelling chants, covering the display and handing out accurate information to students at UBC.
In a true show of solidarity, and in the spirit of Synergy, student’s from the University of Victoria’s pro-choice group came out and supported UBC students. We hope to have more collaborations with UVIC and the network’s newest member: York’s Centre for Women and Trans People
